Raising Awareness about Domestic ViolenceStatistics tell us that around one in three Australian women have experienced physical violence in their lifetime [Australian Bureau of Statistics Personal Safety Survey 2005] and that domestic violence ranks in the top five risks to women's health in Australia. [The Cost of Domestic Violence to the Australian Community. Access Economics 2004] One of the biggest perpetrators of domestic violence is silence. Through our network of Consultants and customers, we aim to raise awareness, highlight the support services available and start talking about domestic violence. |

Breast AwarenessWorking in partnership with the McGrath Foundation, Intimo is dedicated to promoting the importance of breast awareness and breast checks. The legacy of Jane's work and dedication to make a difference lives on in the McGrath Foundation and the message she advocated to all women; early detection saves lives. We were privileged to have Jane personally attend the 2007 Intimo Conference to launch our joint initiative to communicate this message to as many Australian women as possible and were in awe of her passion and dedication. We are deeply moved by the loss of such a remarkable individual and trust that we can keep the importance of her work at the forefront by making every woman aware of the importance of breast examinations. |

The UpLift ProjectMany indigenous women in Fiji and other Pacific islands do not have access to bras because of multiple reasons including price, size and accessibility. Intimo actively supports the UpLift project and regularly donates shipments of bras to be distributed throughout the Pacific. For more information on the UpLift Project and the program they are running, log on to their website: www.upliftbras.org |
